How to Start Couponing From the Ground Up Part 2

Collecting Coupons

As a new couponer you wonder where do they get all of those coupons?  The fact is couponers find themselves paying hundreds of dollars for coupons a year if they are not careful.  Some even pay more for coupons then they save.  So be careful and judge weather a coupon is worth the cost.

Print Coupons

When printing coupons be sure to only print really good ones or ones you know you will use.  The cost of paper and ink dose add up.

Coupons.com (Get an extra ten cents by printing off Swag Bucks details here.)

bettycrocker.com Often has higher values then other sites but they go fast so print early on the 1st of every month

couponnetwork.com You can also see the Catalina (coupons that print at the register at Dillon's and Hyvee) deals here.

SmartSource.com

Redplumb.com

Buy the news paper

Buying the Sunday newspaper is a great way to get coupons.  Here the best one is The Kansas City Star.  Before buying the paper preview the coupons in it.  We will post the preview list so you can decide if it's worth the cost.  Sometimes well it's not.

Buy clipped coupons and whole inserts

thecouponclippers.com For clipped coupons

wholecouponinserts.com For whole inserts

Snag free coupons at the store

This is a great way to get free coupons simply walk around the commissary (Dillion's is known for having a few too) Grab coupons that you see and know you can use.  Grab a few when the exasperation date is not for a few months.  These Items almost always go on sale before the coupon sees the end of it's days.

Ask

E-mail to your favorite companies, or ask friends for their unwanted coupons.  These are great ways to get coupons that cost nothing more then your time.

Facebook

"Like" your favorite companies to get in on their coupons and give a ways.  Like us at Ft Riley Money Savers and we will lead you to pages with coupons and deals.

How to Get Freebies and Coupons by Mail Without Flooding Your Inbox

Many people will tell you they do not sign up for freebies and coupons because they are afraid of filling their e-mail inbox with the dreaded online 4 letter word.  SPAM.  SPAM dose not need to be an issue and it's as simple as setting up a free yahoo or gmail e-mail account.  This e-mail is only for coupons freebies and deals.  It takes five minutes of your time and leaves you with out worry of not being able to find that all important e-mail hidden by newsletters and SPAM from signing up for freebies and deals.

 Understanding It Takes Time

Many people decide to give couponing a try and feel over wellmed.
When it comes to couponing it takes time.  With TLCs  Extreme Couponing people
are getting even more discouraged by not walking out of the store with hundreds
of dollars off goods for free. Their are a few things about this show many do not understand.

The show is staged.  Stores have admitted to throwing out their coupon polices for the sake of the show.
They won't do that for you.

Many cheat he system by using coupons that are not for the item they are buying.

They spend a ton on the coupons they use.

Coupon polices are changing do to the show.

And really if that's how you shopped every week how healthy would your family be?

This is not to say you can not have trips like this sometimes but it will not happen all the time.
That's just a fact of life.  Your first trip you may save only a few dollars but as time goes by
you will save more and more with your stock pile and building your collection of coupons.
Some weeks will have better deals then others so don't get discouraged when you don't have a very
good week.
